I am licensed in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario and provide routine services including healthy eating, weight management (loss or gain), improving high cholesterol, blood sugar and pressure, and markers of fatty liver disease. These services are available using a variety of dietary patterns, including low carb and keto. I recently resumed using my maiden surname, but built my practice as Joy Kiddie.
I help adults of all ages reduce the health risks associated with conditions that run in their family, and I frequently provide routine services to couples and multiple members of the same family. While I assess each person's nutritional needs individually, Meal Plans are designed to complement each other — eliminating the need to prepare different meals.
I provide digestive health services to individuals with food allergies, food sensitivities, as well as those newly diagnosed with celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, or various types of colitis.
I offer customized support for women's health including prenatal and post partum nutrition, PCOS, as well as menopause management for 'women of a certain age' and provide a range of services related to men's health with nearly half of my clients being men. I have dedicated services for healthy adults who seek to stay that way as they age, including maintaining a healthy body weight and retaining muscle and bone mass.
For those recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s), including sub-clinical hypothyroidism, I offer a dedicated package to help address the weight gain and which provides nutrition education about specific foods and nutrients of importance, including supplementation.
I also have several years experience designing therapeutic ketogenic diets as adjunct treatment for some physical health conditions, and more recently as adjunct therapy in mental health. While therapeutic ketogenic diets have similarities to keto diets used for weight loss and improved blood sugar, they are also very different. You can learn about this under Therapeutic Diets services, below.
I also offer specialized services to support those with Mast Cell Activation Disorder/Syndrome and some types of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and offer specialized nutrition education on a range of topics, including gout, migraines, GERD, macular degeneration, and improving iron status from food to name a few.
I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach, but that Nutrition is BetterByDesign©.
MULTICULTURAL MEAL PLANS
I specialize in multicultural Meal Plans and have in-depth knowledge of the food and cultural practices from many regions of Asia and South Asia, North Africa, the Caribbean, Middle East and the Mediterranean.

Initial Assessment visits and subsequent visits in all packages continue to be priced at or below the Reasonable and Customary Fee limits of five major benefits insurers for British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
