Cornerstone Nutrition was established in 2017 as a private practice encouraging a Healthier You, One Step at a Time., Utilizing behavior management approaches with over 20 years practice on the Sunshine Coast, I feel confident that I can handle a wide variety of problems that are presented to me by my clients.
I have a Masters of Science from UBC, have coordinated the Diabetes Clinic at the Sechelt hospital for over 17 years, am a Certified Diabetes Educator and a Virtual Omnipod Insulin Pump trainer. I have a background working as a dietitian in acute and ambulatory care, have worked in residential care at Sumac and with indigenous populations acquiring over 2Million dollars of programming over 18 years for diabetes, prenatal and food security programs at the Sechelt Indian Band.
With some genetics training at university, I have long been interested in testing DNA for developing nutrition practice based recommendations to enhance certain gene codes and am actively participating with Eat Love with a DNA based menu plan for myself. .I offer DNA testing with Nutrigenomix on my website. Also I have been keenly aware of sports nutrition, practicing with my son who competes at an elite level with Spartan, Trail Running and Tower Running, have been a certified ISAK Level One Anthropometrist technician and taken advanced training with Dietitians of Canada on sports training.
