How to Find Your Blog Topics

Our favorite way to find blog topics and content is to REUSE old content!

Do you already blog on your own website or maybe you have been posting on social media platforms?  You may also have valuable content sitting in your google drive or emails that you have sent to your past clients.  These are often super helpful content for potential clients as they often have similar questions and/or challenges.

When you do have an idea what your blog topics, do a quick keyword research to see what questions people are asking around that topic and what words are they using. Find the keywords with with the highest search volume and lowest difficulty score – aim for a difficulty under 40 OR easy to moderate.

  1. Your keyword(s) is in the title (H1) and in the opening paragraph naturally – check that you have a compelling title that would drive your audience to click and read your blog, our favorite free tool is the headline analyzer.

  2. Use H2 headings for subtitles and to separate your blog into readable sections.

  3. Rename your blog image before uploading to something relevant to your blog (ie. fiber_rich_foods_vancouver_dietitian.jpg VS. 1234567.jpg)

  4. Add in an alt text to your blog image that describes the image in text for people who can’t see the image , this description can help search engine understand what your image is about (ie. A sign displaying the word fiber along with an array of fibrous foods in the background, including nuts, legumes, vegetables, fruits, oats)

Be Careful Not to Depend on AI

As tempting as it be to use AI to write your blog, it is highly cautioned against using AI to blog.  This is because AI content is often duplicated content and it is being penalized and will affect the potential ranking of that blog.  You can still utilize AI effectively as a tool in different phases of your blog, such as :

-brainstorming blog ideas

-generating an outline

-organizing content

-summarizing a portion of the blog
