As new research continues to emerge, staying updated on the best practices for managing chronic kidney disease (CKD) is essential for practitioners. This webinar delves into the latest findings on early interventions, with a focus on personalized strategies that slow disease progression, reduce comorbidities, and optimize patient outcomes. We will address key challenges faced by clients with CKD, clear up common misconceptions, and provide practical, evidence-based tools to confidently support your clients' kidney health.

 

In this 1.5 hour workshop, we will cover:

1) KDIGO 2024 Clinical Practice Guideline for the Evaluation and Management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) : protein, potassium, fluids

2) Review updates on available CKD resources

3) Translating the research updates into practice - ASSESSMENT

4) what labs to monitor, how to promote physical activity, what metrics to track for successful health outcomes, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, overall quality of life, energy, sleep, mood, gastrointestinal symptoms) - DIAGNOSIS/INTERVENTION

5) navigating CKD and other dietary needs - ie. Mediterranean, vegetarian, diabetes, cardiovascular, athletes

6) Follow ups
-how to successfully book follow ups
-meal planning services for clients

 

Speaker :

Dani Renouf, RD, MSc, CDE

Dani is a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience working with patients and clients in chronic disease prevention and management. This includes positions within the hospital sector, private industry, community and public health, and research settings. Currently, Dani works as the provincial dietitian lead for BC Renal and is the Renal Resource Dietitian at St. Paul's Hospital. She also runs her own private practice, 4 Elements Nutrition Consulting.
